A minor child died after fell into an under-construction septic tank at Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Monday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:30am at Wapda Bazar area of Char Boroloi village in Borovita Union under the upazila.

The deceased Roza Moni was one-and-half-year-old and daughter of Ahidul Islam from the same village.

Quoting the deceased family members, Shah Alam, the UP member of Char Boroloi Ward, said Roza slipped into the septic tank while her mother was busy with housework.

After a while, the mother saw the body of Roza was floating in the water and screamed for help.

Family members rushed to her scream and recovered the body.

Phulbari Police Station officer-in-charge Nawabur Rahman confirmed the incident and added that an unnatural death (UD) case was filed in this regard.
