Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Department students at Rajshahi University staged sit-in on Tuesday morning, locking the department to press home their four-point demand, including to reduce session jams.

They gathered in front of the department`s president room at about 8:30AM and stage sit-in there, locking the office room.

The protesting students alleged that several irregularities have been going on in the department for several years. It takes one year to complete a six month semester. Results are supposed to be published within a month, but results are published after eight to 10 months. in-course exam will not be held on time.

They warned to stop all kinds of activities at the department until their demands are met.

The students are also demanding that the department holds second-year first-semester`s exams, as they have been stuck in the same semester for nearly a year.
