Expatriate Bangladeshis sent Tk 28,856 crore (approximately $2.40 billion) in remittances during the month of September, continuing the strong inflows seen in August.
The remittance flow remains a vital source of foreign currency for Bangladesh’s economy.
According to the latest report from Bangladesh Bank, expatriates remitted $2.40 billion during September, equivalent to more than Tk 28,856 crore at an exchange rate of Tk 120 per dollar.
On average, over $80 million, or approximately Tk 962 crore, was sent daily.
However, the report also noted that no remittances were received through seven banks during the same period.
