A fire that broke out in the warehouse of a tissue manufacturing factory in Meghnaghat in Narayanganj`s Sonargaon upazila early Monday, was brought under control after nearly four hours of frantic efforts.

A total of 12 firefighting units from various stations managed to bring the blaze under their control at 9AM, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.

Earlier, the fire erupted in the warehouse of Fresh Tissue Paper around 5:10AM.

Workers initially tried to douse the fire with the help of their own firefighting team but failed as the fire spread quickly. Then they informed the Fire Service.
