Two youths were killed after being being hit by a bus in Sirajganj`s Ullapara upazila on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 8:15 am in Boalia Bazar area on the Bogura-Nagarbari highway in the upazila.

The dead were identified as Shariful Islam, 25, son of Mizanur Rahman of Matikata village in the upazila, and Naimur Rahman, 22, son of Shafiqul Islam of Ratankandi village in Shahjadpur upazila.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) the dead Abdur Rouf Shariful and Naimur were heading towards Pabna riding on a motorcycle. When they reached Boalia area, a bus coming from the opposite direction ran over them. The two died on the spot.

Later, police recovered the bodies. However, the bus had fled the scene.

Legal action is underway in this regard, the OC added.
