A van driver was killed when a brick-laden truck ran over him on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in the early hours of Wednesday.

Deceased Rabbi Hawlader was a resident of Rogunathpur village under Bakerganj uapzila in Barishal district.

Confirming the matter Savar Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Saugatul Alam adding that police have recovered the body and locals handed over the truck involved in the incident, but its driver managed to flee.

Legal actions will be taken in this regard, added the OC.
