Three people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a truck and an ambulance in Rajshahi`s Godagari upazila on Monday.

The accident occurred around 5:30 am in Rajabari checkpost area of ​​the upazila.

The dead were Jafar Iqbal, 45, a resident of Hossainiganj Boli area under Godagari Upazila, Sundari, 60, of Thakurjouban Para, and Adari, 35, a resident of the same area.

Ruhul Amin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godagari Police Station, confirmed the matter and said that the ambulance was going from to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital from Godagari Upazila Health Complex with a patient. On the way, it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in Rajabari area. Three people died on the spot.

He also said that after the accident, the injured and dead were rescued and sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. After the accident, the truck fled with the driver. Efforts are underway to identify the truck. A case will be filed in this regard, he added.
