  Gold prices go up after cut in three phases

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has increased the prices of gold after reduction in three phases, with raising 22 carat gold by Tk 3,557 to Tk 1,51,900 per bhori (11.664 grams).

Besides, 21-carat gold was hiked by Tk 3,394 to Tk 1,44,995 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 3,021 to Tk 1,24,397, and gold of traditional method by Tk 2,485 to Tk 1,02,375 respectively.

The prices have been increased following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday, March 4.

The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday, March 5.

Earlier on March 1, the price of 22-carat gold declined by Tk 2,624 to Tk 1,48,343 per bhori, while 21-carat gold decreased by Tk 2,496 to Tk 1,41,601 per bhori.

Similarly, 18-carat gold was cut by Tk 2,134 to Tk 1,21,376 per bhori, and traditional gold reduced by Tk 1,832 to Tk 99,890 per bhori.
