  37,000 tons of rice arrive from India, Pakistan

Two shipments totaling 37,250 tons of rice have arrived at Chittagong Port from India and Pakistan.

Of this, 26,250 metric tons were imported from Pakistan, and 11,000 metric tons were purchased from India.

This information was disclosed in a notification signed by Imdad Islam, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Food, on Wednesday (March 5).

The notification stated that the MV CB, carrying 26,250 metric tons of raw rice imported from Pakistan on a government-to-government (G2G) basis, and the MV HT United, carrying 11,000 metric tons of parboiled rice imported from India under an international open tender (Package-05), have arrived at Chittagong Port.

The process of unloading the rice will begin today after testing the samples from both ships. Necessary measures have been taken in this regard, according to the notification.
