Two individuals were killed in a head-on collision between motorcycle and truck under Damkura Police Station in Rajshahi on Saturday afternoon.

The accident took place around 3:30 PM on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj road at Muraripur area under the police station.

The deceased were identified as Shamim Osman, 28, son of Manik Ali, and Saddam Ali, 30, son of Sentu Ali, both residents of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj.

According to eyewitnesses, the motorcycle collided with a Rajshahi-bound stone landen truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving both riders dead on the spot.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the bodies from the spot, said Damkura Police Station officer-in-charge Rabiul Islam.

Locals seized the truck but its driver and his associate managed to flee the scene.

Legal proceedings were underway in this connection, the OC added.
