  09-03-2025

On Sunday, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuz Alam announced that the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards social unrest and any form of anarchy.

Speaking at a media briefing on law and order at the Ministry of Law, Alam emphasized that anyone found guilty of committing crimes or engaging in mob justice—regardless of religion, caste, or gender—will face legal action.

“The government is committed to enforcing the law, and anyone involved in illegal activities will be brought to justice,” he stated.

The briefing, held in the conference room of the Ministry of Law, was also attended by Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, as well as Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Alam further stressed that the government will take a firm stand in cases of mob violence or anarchy going forward.

He also shared plans for future collaboration with the media to raise awareness on law and order issues. “We will soon meet with media representatives to discuss how they can help inform the public about maintaining law and order,” he said, adding that the Ministry of Cultural Affairs might be involved in developing campaigns, including awareness videos, to educate the public further.
