The interim government has reinstated the posthumous Independence Award for late President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

The Cabinet Division announced the decision in a notification on Tuesday (March 11).

The then government cancelled the Independence Award given to martyred president Ziaur Rahman in 2003 following a ruling by the Supreme Court.
