The fire at Saat Tola slum in Mohakhali, Dhaka, has been brought under control after nearly two hours of efforts, according to Fire Service Media Cell official Khairul Islam Roni.
On Wednesday (March 12) at 5:20 AM, the fire was brought under control after one hour and 42 minutes of effort by eight units of the Fire Service. Earlier, Fire Service duty officer Rakibul Hasan stated that the fire broke out at 3:38 AM.

Fire Service officials reported that the first unit arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the fire alert and began firefighting efforts. Gradually, more units were deployed, and by 5:00 AM, eight units were on-site working to control the blaze. 
However, by that time, most of the slum`s houses had already been destroyed. The extent of the damage could not be immediately determined, officials said.
