Saudi Arabia sets minimum age of 15 to perform Hajj
  12-03-2025

Saudi Arabia has announced that the minimum age for pilgrims to perform Hajj in 2025 will be set at 15 years.

This decision was outlined in a letter from the Hajj-1 branch of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, issued on Wednesday.

The letter, addressed to prospective pilgrims, Hajj agencies, and related banks, states that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has made this decision in consideration of the health and safety of children.

According to the letter, the minimum age requirement will apply to all pilgrims for the 2025 (1446 Hijri) season, with age being calculated from the date of birth listed in the pilgrim`s passport.

The letter further mentioned that a child pilgrim who is 15 years old or a guardian accompanying them can replace a pre-registered pilgrim if necessary.

This new regulation will affect both government and private registered pilgrims for this year`s Hajj.
