Two childrean drowned in ponds at Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram district on Tuesday.

The accident occured at Akubdandi village under Popadia union in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Alifa, 3, daughter of Md Khorshed Alam from Akubdandi village and 18-month-old Anurag Nath, son of Rupon Nath from South Kelishohor village under Patiya upazila.

Boalkhali Upazila Health Complex`s emergengy department on-duty doctor Dr. Ishrat Jahan confirmed the deaths and said that both the child brought dead to the hospital.
