Law adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has stated that, in line with the commitment made by the chief adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, the national election will be held as soon as possible between December and June. “No matter what anyone says, the election will not go beyond June,” he emphasised.

He further stated that the BNP is very sincere about the issue of reforms. “We had open and frank discussions with BNP leaders,” he added.

Asif Nazrul made these remarks during a press briefing outside the state guest house Jamuna on Bailey Road in the capital on Wednesday (April 16) afternoon.

Earlier, an eight-member BNP delegation, led by the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, met with the Chief Adviser and discussed various issues, including a roadmap for the forthcoming national election. Adviser Asif Nazrul was also present at the meeting.
