A municipality cleaner died due to electrocution at a residence of ward no. 1 in Bhola’s Lalmohan upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Babul Hossain, son of M Oliullah, a resident of Pashcimpara area in the upazila.

According to locals, they found Babul entangled with wires at base of an electric pole behind the abandoned residence of Mafizul Islam and called the police.

Being informed, police arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

However, the reason for his presence at that location remains unknown.

Confirming the matter, Lalmohan Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) M Sirajul Islam said that a police team went to the scene upon receiving the information.

As there were no complaints, the body was handed over to his family.

Investigations are underway to find the facts behind the incident, the OC added.
