The price of gold in Bangladesh has jumped once again, just a day after the last hike. This time, the cost of 22-carat gold has increased by BDT 5,342 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new price at BDT 177,888 per bhori.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the updated rates in a statement issued on Tuesday night (April 22).
According to the statement, the price of pure (tejabi) gold has increased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, a new gold price has been set.
As per the new pricing, the price of 22-carat gold will be BDT 177,888 per bhori. This new rate will be effective from tomorrow, Wednesday (April 23).
Previously, on April 21, BAJUS last adjusted the gold price, raising it by BDT 4,713 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was set at BDT 172,546 per bhori—marking the highest in the country`s history.
