Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus departed from Qatar on Friday morning at 9:25 AM (12:25 PM Bangladesh Standard Time) to attend the funeral of Pope Francis in Vatican.

The Chief of Protocol of Qatar, Ibrahim bin Yousif Abdullah Fakhroo, bid farewell to Professor Yunus at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Professor Yunus is scheduled to arrive in Rome at 2:15 PM (Italy time), where he will be welcomed by Ambassador of Bangladesh to Italy and Ambassador to Vatican City, according to Chief Adviser`s Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.

Upon arrival, Chief Adviser will visit St. Peter`s Square at 3:15 PM (Friday) to pay respects to Pope Francis` mortal remains.

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, Vicar General of Vatican City, will formally greet the Chief Adviser and his delegation at the square.

On Saturday at 9:30 AM, Professor Yunus will return to St. Peter`s Square to attend the Funeral Mass of Pope Francis.

Dr. Yunus will depart from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport at 8:00 AM (12:00 PM Bangladesh Standard Time) on Sunday, with an expected arrival in Dhaka in the early hours of Monday.
