A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking directives to form an expert committee to review the controversial and conflicting issues of the Women`s Reform Commission. A High Court lawyer filed the writ in the relevant branch of the court in the public interest on Sunday (May 4th).
Simultaneously, a directive has been sought to refrain from implementing the recommendations of the Women`s Reform Commission until the writ is resolved.
Furthermore, the writ seeks the annulment of recommendations numbered three, four, six, ten, eleven, and twelve of the Women`s Reform Commission, claiming they contradict Islamic law, offend public sentiment, and conflict with the constitution.
