  05-05-2025

The 18th Bangladesh Denim Expo, set for May 12–13, 2025, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, is poised to reinforce Bangladesh’s role as a global denim powerhouse.

Organised by the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, the event will unite exhibitors from 14 countries, showcase sustainable innovations, and host pivotal discussions, shaping denim trends and practices worldwide.

Featuring over 60 exhibitors, including American & Efird Bangladesh Ltd., Azgard Nine Limited, Bluesign Technologies AG, Nishat Mills Ltd., and YKK Bangladesh Pte Ltd., the expo will display cutting-edge fabrics, garments, machinery, and eco-friendly accessories.

The event, themed “A Blue New World,” emphasizes sustainable production and responsible sourcing, reflecting Bangladesh’s ascent as the second-largest denim exporter to the EU and third to the US.

Two panel discussions will anchor the expo’s knowledge-sharing mission. On May 12, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, “The Growth of the Bangladesh Denim Industry Through the Perspective of Denim Washing” will feature experts like Abdus Samad (Well of Washing) and Julie Davies (The Woolmark Company).

On May 13, “Stretch-ability of Bangladesh Denim Traceability” will include Marco Volpi (Bluesign Technologies AG) and Reza e Rabbi (Vertex Wear Limited), addressing sustainability and supply chain transparency.

The Trend Zone will spotlight innovative designs, from distressed jeans to eco-friendly indigo dyes, inspiring global designers. “This expo isn’t just about showcasing local talent—it’s a hub for international collaborations,” said Mostafiz Uddin, Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange. “Global brands partner with our manufacturers, boosting our economy and attracting investors.”

Bangladesh’s denim industry, contributing over $8 billion annually to exports, leverages events like this to forge partnerships with brands like H&M and Zara. The expo’s focus on sustainable practices, such as Merino wool blends and chemical-free washes, aligns with global demand for ethical fashion.

With 5,543 visitors from 56 countries at the 2024 edition, the 2025 expo is expected to draw even larger crowds, amplifying its influence on global markets. By fostering innovation and collaboration, the Bangladesh Denim Expo continues to redefine denim’s future.
