Police recovered the bodies of three members of a family from a house near Gate No. 3 of Hamim Group of Ashulia in Savar on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Rubel, 35, a mason, his wife Sonia Akter, 28, a garment worker, and their five-year-old daughter Jamila.

According to locals, the wife and daughter were found lying on a bed, while Rubel’s body was hanging from a beam in the room. Residents immediately alerted the Ashulia Police Station, which inspected the scene.

Confirming the matter, Ashulia police station officer-in-charge Abdul Hannan said that police recovered the bodies and sent them to morgue for post-mortem examinations.

The CID Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit has been called to the scene, and preparations are underway to file a formal case,” the OC said.

Further details are expected as the investigation continues, he added.
