Charmonai Pir vows crackdown on extortion
  18-10-2025

Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and commonly known as Charmonai Pir, has issued a stern warning against individuals involved in extortion and money laundering, vowing that such elements will no longer be allowed to operate with impunity.

Speaking at the founding anniversary rally of the Islami Shramik Andolan, Bhola District South, on Saturday afternoon, he declared: “We will stand united and raise our voices—those who loot the people’s wealth will not remain untouched. They must face the consequences.”

The event was held at Brojogopal Town Hall in Charfesson, Bhola, and drew a large gathering of party leaders, activists, and supporters.

Rezaul Karim criticized what he described as systemic deception by political elites seeking power through manipulation. “Some believe they can deceive the masses, climb to positions of authority, and exploit the nation,” he said. “We will not allow any more mothers to lose their sons or let our country fall into the hands of foreign interests. No deviation from Islamic principles will be tolerated.”

Reflecting on the August 5 mass uprising, he called it a turning point that opened the door for justice, moral governance, and social reform. “We have seen decades of rule under both the Awami League and BNP-Jatiya Party alliances,” he noted. “After August 5, it became clear that many promises were just words—lacking real commitment to change.”

The rally was presided over by Maulana Md. Abdul Kaiyum, President of Islami Shramik Andolan, Bhola District South, with Maulana Maksudur Rahman serving as moderator.

Key addresses were delivered by Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Central Organizational Secretary of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. Special guests included Alaudin Talukdar, member of the party’s Central Majlis-e-Shura; Maulana Nazibullah Sarkar, Central Organizational Secretary (Barishal Division); parliamentary candidates Prof. A.M.M. Kamal Uddin (Bhola-4) and Maulana Mohammad Moslehuddin (Bhola-3); and Mufti Nuruddin, President of Islami Andolan Bhola District South.
