The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a couple for allegedly producing and distributing obscene content linked to an international pornography website.

CID Special Superintendent of Police Jasim Uddin Khan confirmed the arrests on Monday (October 20) morning. He said the couple had been regularly uploading pornographic content to a foreign website. Their channel on the platform reportedly ranked among the world’s most popular porn sites.

Investigations revealed that the couple had been filming, editing, and uploading videos while residing in Bangladesh, generating a substantial income in the process.

According to Bangladesh’s Pornography Control Act of 2012, the production and distribution of pornography are criminal offenses. Authorities stated that the couple not only engaged in these illegal activities themselves but also encouraged others to participate, leading to the creation of a network for producing and promoting pornographic content from within the country.

The matter came to light following a report by The Descent, an investigative media outlet, which exposed the couple’s activities.
