Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a couple with 7 kilograms of hemp from Sadar upazila in Brahmanbaria district early Monday.

The arrested were identified as Kabir Hossain, 28 and his wife, Mst. Arifa Akter, 30, both residents of Ranikhar Purbo Para area under Akhaura Police Station in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the Sultanpur area at around 7:30 AM and arrested the duo with 7 kg of hemp from their possessions.

A DB official confirmed the incident and said that legal action is being taken against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
