Eight people died of dengue while 778 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

A press release, issued from the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room, confirmed the matter on Sunday.

Of the new admissions, 83 were reported in Barishal division, 134 in Chattogram, 121 in Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 129 in Dhaka North City, 81 in Dhaka South City, 112 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 44 in Mymensingh, 48 in Rajshahi, 19 in Rangpur, and 7 in Sylhet.

During the same period, 1,111 patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 87,442.

Since January, 90,264 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country, and the death toll has reached 364.

In comparison, 101,214 people were hospitalised and 575 died from dengue in 2024. The previous year, 2023, saw 1,705 dengue deaths and 321,179 hospitalisations.
