  PSTC Organizes Intergenerational Dialogue on Preventing Online Violence Against Women

Special Correspondent: As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) organized a two-generation dialogue titled “Bridging Voices: Shared Futures on Digital violence” at Multipurpose hall of PSTC Bhaban in the capital.
The program was chaired by Dr. Noor Mohammad, Executive Director of PSTC. The chief guest was Dr. Ashrafi Ahmad, Director General, Directorate General of Family Planning, Government of Bangladesh. Special guests included Taslim Uddin Khan, Director (IEM), DGFP, Dr. Touhida Tashnima, Chairperson, Department of Social Relations, East-West University; and Priyota Momdal, President, National Youth Network (NaYoN).
The keynote paper was presented by Faiza Rahman Anila, Vice Chairperson of NaYoN. Students from various universities and colleges in Dhaka and Gazipur participated in the dialogue.
In her speech, the chief guest said that today’s youth have increased access to digital platforms and, if used properly, these platforms can bring positive change to society.
Speakers emphasized the importance of online safety, privacy protection, and responsible digital behavior. They also highlighted the need for increased awareness and proper knowledge of reporting mechanisms to take legal action against online violence.
The session concluded with a call from Dr. Noor Mohammad, for using digital media as a tool for empowerment, not harassment, and encouraging young people to take an active role in creating a safer online environment.
