Online Desk : The High Court (HC) on Thursday summarily rejected a writ petition filed challenging the legality of virtually running the courts across the country.

The HC bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim and Justice M Badruzzaman passed the rejection order after holding the hearing.

State counsel deputy attorney general Dr M Bashir Ullah said, "In the coronavirus pandemic, virtual functions of the courts are being run in many countries including neighbouring India. So, issuing a rule in this regard is not necessary. The court, then summarily rejected the writ petition."
