  IU set to observe Martyred Intellectual Day, Victory Day

IU Correspondent: The Islamic University authority is ready to observe the Martyred Intellectuals Day and Victory Day on the campus in Kushtia on Monday and Wednesday respectively in a befitting manner.

A press release, signed by IU Information, Publication and Public Relations office deputy director Rajibul Islam Kanok, was issued in this regard on Saturday.

Marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day, the university authorities chalked out elaborate programmes including holding candle vigil, hoisting of black flags, placing floral wreaths at the university`s MemorialMonument and offering special prayer for the eternal peace of the most enlightened sons of the land.

 

To mark the Victory Day, a series of programs were set including hoisting national and university flags atop IU administration building, releasing balloons in the sky, placing floral wreaths at Mukta Bangla, offering prayers and holding discussion.

 

The teachers, officials and students of the university led by its vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam will pay homage at IU Memorial Monument and Mukta Bangla to mark the days, Rajibul Islam Kanok said.
