IU Correspondent: A SEMINAR on ‘Isolation, identification, and characterisation of multidrug resistant causative agents of bacillary dysentery from clinical samples was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Sunday.
IU applied nutrition and food technology department organised the seminar at the second floor of Applied Science and Technology building in the morning.
IU Biological Science faculty dean Professor M Abdus Samad addressed the seminar as the chief guest while applied nutrition and food technology department chairman Professor Abul Kashem Tang spoke as special guest with Professor M Rezaul Karim of the same department in the chair.
AFM Aminul Huq, a PhD fellow of applied nutrition and food technology department, presented the article under the supervision of Professor Dipak Kumar Paul.
Addressing the seminar the speakers shed lights on serotyping and molecular characterization of bacillary dysentery causing bacteria and the ways to identify the main reasons behind not to cure from dysentery despite using multidrug.
IU applied nutrition and food technology department associate Professor M Asad Ud-daula conducted the seminar attended by around 50 teachers of different departments of the university including, Professor M Mamunur Rahman, Professor Rezuanul Islam, Professor ATM Mijanur Rahman.
