China Sets New Records in the Postal and Delivery Industry
  23-01-2026

International Desk : China’s National Postal Administration has announced that in December 2025, the country’s postal and delivery sector handled more than 19.77 billion parcels, marking a 1.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the administration, business revenue in the sector reached 163 billion yuan in December, representing a 0.6 percent year-on-year growth. Driven by year-end e-commerce promotional campaigns, the courier market maintained steady and stable expansion.

To adapt to the evolving e-commerce landscape—characterized by long-term, multi-peak demand and innovative promotional models—delivery enterprises have further optimized resource allocation and transport capacity planning. These efforts have strongly supported the growing demand for online consumption.

At the same time, companies have leveraged expanded network coverage and digital service capabilities to strengthen the integration of the “delivery network + high-speed rail network.” This has led to the broader rollout of high-speed rail express delivery services, significantly improving logistics efficiency.

In addition, a direct-from-origin collection system for fresh agricultural products has been implemented, supported by a multi-modal cold-chain transport network combining high-speed rail, aviation, and road transport. The launch of additional dedicated cargo aircraft routes has effectively addressed long-standing challenges related to the transportation and preservation of agricultural products.

Overall, in 2025, China’s postal and delivery sector handled a total of 216.51 billion parcels, an 11.8 percent increase over the previous year. During the same period, total business revenue reached approximately 1.8 trillion yuan, up 6.1 percent year-on-year. Both figures represent historic highs, setting new records for the industry.
