Three people, including an auto-rickshaw driver, were killed when a passenger bus collided with a battery-powered auto-rickshaw on the Bhola–Charfassion regional highway in Lalmohan upazila.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the bus was travelling from Bhola Sadar’s Birsreshtha Mostafa Kamal Bus Terminal toward Char fesson upazila, while the auto-rickshaw was heading in the opposite direction toward Lalmohan.

The collision left the auto-rickshaw mangled, killing the driver and two passengers on the spot. The bus lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch, injuring at least 15 passengers.

Police, fire service personnel and local residents rushed to the scene and transported the injured to nearby health facilities. Some received primary treatment, while others were admitted to the local health complex.

Confirming the incident, Lalmohan Police Station officer-in-charge Md Oliul Islam said all three deceased were travelling in the auto-rickshaw.

“We reached the scene within minutes of receiving the information, recovered the bodies, and sent the injured to hospital on an emergency basis. Legal action will be taken in this regard,” he added.

In a separate incident earlier in the day, a 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Borhanuddin upazila after losing control of his bike on the same Bhola–Char fesson regional highway near Togbi Road intersection around 1:30 PM.
