International: Ding Xuexiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, met with David Solomon, Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs, in Beijing on Wednesday, January 28.

During the meeting, Ding Xuexiang stated that China’s economy maintains a positive long-term outlook and serves as a reliable engine for global development. Throughout the period of the 15th Five-Year Plan, China will firmly promote high-quality development, steadily expand high-level opening-up, and continue to unlock the potential of its vast domestic market. These efforts, he noted, will inject fresh momentum into global development and create broader opportunities for enterprises from all countries.

Ding also encouraged foreign-invested institutions to further expand investment and cooperation in China, and to better share in the opportunities arising from China’s development.

In response, Solomon said that Goldman Sachs remains optimistic about China’s development prospects and economic growth potential. He added that the firm is committed to strengthening its presence in the Chinese market and will continue to play a positive role in promoting the stable development of China–US relations.
