Two people were killed in separate road accidents at Chatmohar upazila of Pabna district.

The deceased were identified as Rony Hossain, 15, son of Rubel Hossain from Kuwabashi village under Failajana union and Akat Ali, 55, son of late Kiamuddin from Baludia village under Mulgram union.

According to reports, Rony was killed on Sunday around 9:30 AM when an overloaded brick-laden trolley lost control and ran over him while he was walking along a road near his home. He died on the spot.

In a separate incident, Akat was fatally injured on Saturday morning while crossing the Chatmohar-Pabna highway at Purbo Tiyartola area. He was hit by a speeding CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

Locals rescued him and rushed him to Pabna Medical College Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was later transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where he died in the evening while undergoing treatment.

Chatmohar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Mostafa said that police were dispatched to both accident sites.

However, no formal complaint has been filed so far and necessary legal action will be taken if any complaint is received, added the OC.
