| Gold prices in the country have fallen by Tk 2,216 per bhori within 24 hours, bringing the price of 22-carat gold down amid a fresh revision in the local market, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
Following the latest adjustment the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 242,495 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring and was later confirmed in an official notice signed by committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.
The revised rates, however, came into effect from 10:00 am on Wednesday.
