| Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday forecast rain and thunderstorms in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours beginning from 9:00 AM.
According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places in the Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
The forecast also predicts rain at one or two places in the Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in parts of Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, the bulletin added.
The Met office said day temperatures may rise slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
Meanwhile, a mild heatwave continues to sweep over Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Madaripur and Lakshmipur, and it may persist.
The country’s highest temperature on Saturday was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius in Khulna, while the lowest temperature today was 20.5 degrees Celsius in Bogura and at Talash in Rajshahi division.
In Dhaka, the sun is scheduled to set at 6:35 PM on Sunday and rise at 5:15 AM on Monday.
