  China and Nepal Discuss Expanding Cooperation at High-Level Meeting in Beijing

International: China`s top political adviser Wang Huning met with Nepalese Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in Beijing on Tuesday, with both sides discussing ways to deepen bilateral ties, enhance political trust, and expand practical cooperation.

Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with Nepal, strengthen mutual political trust, and further deepen practical cooperation.

He noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, China stands ready to advance bilateral relations to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of the two neighboring nations.

For his part, Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said Nepal-China friendship is founded on the principles of peaceful coexistence embodied in the Panchsheel framework. He reaffirmed Nepal`s firm adherence to the One-China policy and stressed that Nepal would not allow its territory to be used for any activities directed against China.

Khanal also expressed Nepal`s willingness to expand cooperation with China and share the benefits of development and prosperity.
