  BRICS Women’s Ministers’ Meeting Highlights Women’s Empowerment and Inclusive Development

International: The BRICS Women’s Ministers’ Meeting was held on July 8 and 9 in Kochi, India. The conference was organized by India’s Ministry of Women and Child Development, with nearly 100 representatives from BRICS member states participating both online and in person.

During the meeting, participants held extensive discussions and exchanged views on key issues, including women’s participation in governance, financial and digital inclusion, employment generation, entrepreneurship development, and green development.

The meeting also adopted the Joint Statement of BRICS Women’s Ministers.

In her remarks at the conference, the Chinese representative highlighted the progress of women’s development in China through various data and practical examples.

She said China is willing to work with all parties to implement four major global initiatives. She further emphasized the need to advance women’s empowerment through practical cooperation, promote mutual learning among civilizations through people-to-people exchanges, and work together to achieve the goals of the Global Women’s Summit through collective actions.

She called for joint efforts to build a “community with a shared future for humanity.”
