  14-07-2026

International: China has urged other countries not to be misled by what it described as “disinformation” spread by Paraguay and the United States alleging that Beijing had carried out hostile cyberattacks against Paraguay.

The remarks were made on Tuesday, July 14, by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a regular press briefing in Beijing.

Lin said China has consistently combated hacking activities in accordance with the law while firmly opposing the spread of false information on cybersecurity for political purposes.

He further stated that the United States has long conducted sustained and systematic cyber operations around the world. According to Lin, Washington has also repeatedly used regional countries for geopolitical purposes to make accusations against China.

Lin said China has expressed strong dissatisfaction with and firm opposition to such actions.

He called on relevant countries not to serve as geopolitical tools of the United States and urged them not to assist in disseminating what he described as false US allegations regarding Chinese cyberattacks.
