| A low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, prompting the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) to advise all the country`s seaports to hoist Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.
According to a weather warning issued by the BMD on Wednesday (July 15), the low-pressure area has developed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining north Odisha–West Bengal coastal region.
Under its influence, squally weather may affect the seaports, the north Bay of Bengal, and the adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
The BMD has asked the seaports of Chattogram, Cox`s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to keep Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 hoisted.
Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the north Bay of Bengal have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
