Md Shahed, also known as Shahed Karim, the chairman of Regent Group and Regent Hospital, who drew nationwide attention for allegedly issuing fake COVID-19 test reports without conducting tests and defrauding the public during the pandemic, has been arrested again.

He was arrested by police in the ECB Chattar area of the capital on Monday (July 20) afternoon.

Confirming the arrest to News, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station Md Hasan Basir said Shahed was arrested on the basis of a warrant issued in a CR (Complaint Register) case.

"Further legal procedures are underway," the OC added.
