  Milon urges teachers, guardians to play role in eliminating drug abuse

(BSS) - Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today called upon the teachers, guardians and social workers to jointly build a social movement against the drug abuse.

“Educational institutions must play a leading role in eliminating drug abuse from society,” he told a meeting at his ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat.

Noting that drug abuse becomes a major social menace, Milon urged the teachers to educate their students in such a way so that they cannot get engaged to drug abuse.

A delegation from Cumilla led by Cumilla-6 lawmaker Md. Monirul Haque Chowdhury attended the meeting. The delegation included Cumilla University Vice-Chancellor Prof MM Shariful Karim and its Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Amzad Hossain Sarker, Cumilla Education Board Secretary Prof Jahangir Alam, and heads of various educational institutions of the district.

Secondary and Higher Education Secretary Abdul Khaleque and Technical and Madrasah Education Secretary Md. Daud Miah were present.
