  28-10-2026

Following four consecutive price reductions, gold prices in the domestic market have increased, with the finest quality 22-carat gold rising by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams) to reach Tk 2,23,074, including VAT.

The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) announced the price adjustment citing a rise in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local bullion market, with the new rates taking effect from 10:00AM on Wednesday (October 28).

The decision was finalized during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, followed by an official notification signed by committee Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.

Prior to this hike, gold prices were cut four times in succession on October 13, 22, 23, and 25, reducing the price of high-grade gold by a cumulative Tk 10,439 per bhori.

Under the revised structure including VAT, 21-carat gold has increased by Tk 2,100 to Tk 2,13,043 per bhori, while 18-carat gold rose by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,82,950 per bhori. Traditional-method gold saw a Tk 1,458 hike, bringing its price to Tk 1,49,474 per bhori.

Previously, on October 25, BAJUS had set the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 2,20,858 per bhori after a Tk 3,324 drop, which remained effective until 9:59AM on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged. Including VAT, 22-carat silver continues to sell at Tk 3,849 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 3,674, 18-carat at Tk 3,149, and traditional silver at Tk 2,391 per bhori.
