Bangladeshis` life expectancy now 72.8 years

Staff Reporter : People’s average life expectancy in Bangladesh is now 72 years and eight months.

Planning Minister M A Mannan unveiled the report at the office of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in the capital on Monday morning.

The life expectancy of males in the country currently is 71.2 years, while that of females is 74.5 years, says the report.

In 2019, the life expectancy of men was 71.1 years and that of women was 74.2 years.

The population in the country was 16.82 crore in 2020. Of them, 8.40 crore were females.
