Six people died of dengue and 1,298 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in last 24 hours till Sunday morning.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its daily update mentioned that with the fatalities the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 247.
Among the recent deceased, four were reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one each in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Chattogram Division (excluding CC).
Of them, 282 dengue patients were admitted to the hospitals in Dhaka division (Excluding CC), 242 were in DNCC while 226 were hospitalized in DSCC and 196 in Chattogram division.
Some 1,303 patients were released in the 24 hours while 45,690 released from January 1 to till October 20.
A total of 3,954 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 49,880 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024
Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
