Four more people died from dengue while 444 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the recent fatalities, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 536 this year while 97,706 dengue cases have been reported since 1 January.
Of the new patients, 84 were admitted to hospitals under the DNCC and 78 under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Meanwhile, 518 dengue patients have been discharged from different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 95,151 patients have been discharged this year.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record.
According to the DGHS, there were 3,21,179 cases and 3,18,749 recoveries in 2023.
