Three workers were killed and several others injured as a goods-laden truck rammed into a three-wheeler, locally known as Nasiman, in Pabna’s Santhia in the early hours of Friday, December 27.
The deceased were identified as Khokan Islam, 27, son of Altaf, a resident of Rangamati village, Dhani Pramanik, 50, and Russel Ahmed, 27, son of Sayeed, of Sondaha village in the upazila. They all were workers by profession.
Police and local sources said a goods-laden truck hit the Nasiman in Rangamati area on the Santhia-Madhabpur road around 4:00am, leaving three passengers of the latter vehicle dead and several others injured.
Santhia police station’s officer-in-charge Saidur Rahman said the truck has been seized but its driver managed to flee.
