Rishad, Nahid returning home amid PSL suspension
  10, May, 2025, 1:55:45:PM

Online Report : The escalating geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan has now rippled into the world of cricket, leading to the indefinite suspension of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Among those affected are two promising Bangladeshi cricketers, Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, who are now on their way back home.

BCB, prioritizing player safety, moved quickly to arrange their return. Two Bangladeshi journalists; Mahrush Prottay and Tashfiq Polok, who were also in Pakistan covering the event, are being brought back alongside the players.

Shahriar Nafees, Head of Cricket Operations at BCB, confirmed their homeward journey in a Facebook post.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken swift and decisive action to ensure the safe return of its players from Pakistan, where they were participating in PSL. Rising concerns over missile and drone attacks between the neighboring countries forced Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to call off the remainder of the tournament.

Initially, PCB had considered relocating the rest of PSL matches to Dubai and both Rishad and Nahid were scheduled to travel there. However, with the conflict intensifying across the region, the tournament was ultimately cancelled altogether.

Rishad had made a strong impression early in the tournament with notable performances, while Nahid was awaiting his debut. Unfortunately, their PSL journey was cut short by circumstances beyond the boundary line.

With no clear timeline for when or if the tournament will resume, the focus for now remains on safe return of all foreign player and staffs. For Bangladeshi cricket fans, the good news is that their young talents are returning home unharmed.
