Online Desk : General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on Thursday said many evil forces are still supporting the ousted fascist regime and they are hatching conspiracy against the country, reports BSS.
“Fascism may have fallen and fled, but its allies remain active, plotting behind the scenes. I urge the government to stay vigilant and govern responsibly—otherwise, no one will be safe,” he said.
The BNP leader made the remarks while addressing a human chain programme organised by Uttarbanga Chhatra Forum protesting the killing of Shahriar Alam Shammo, a Dhaka University student and Chhatra Dal leader.
Rizvi said the country is passing a changed situation after August 5. "We want to be at ease. Teachers and students would move on the university campus freely. Why is there this chaotic situation in the university now? Why are the bodies falling now?"
He said, Chhatra Dal leader Sammo was stabbed to death on Tuesday midnight. "What did Sammo do? I think there is a political reason here. Why would three vagrants kill Sammo? A few days ago, there was a movement on Facebook to stop the national anthem at Shahbagh. There was a post against it. Is that the reason?"
Amra BNP Poribar convener journalist Atiqur Rahman Ruman, member secretary Moksedul Momin Mimun, former Chhatra Dal leaders Mehbub Masum Shanto, Omar Farque Kausar and Dr Towhid Awal, among others, were present at the event.
