| Bangladesh reported two new COVID-19-related deaths and 18 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, according to a health bulletin released by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The infections were detected after testing 312 samples, resulting in a daily positivity rate of 5.77 percent.
With the latest figures, the total number of confirmed cases in the country has risen to 2,051,876, while the death toll stands at 29,506.
The overall test positivity rate since the onset of the pandemic is now 13.05 percent.
Bangladesh first detected COVID-19 cases on March 8, 2020.
The first death from the virus was reported 10 days later, on March 18.
The country saw its highest single-day death toll of 264 on two occasions; August 5 and August 10, 2021.
